Jonathan & Chloe’s Relaxed Summer Wedding at The Pheasantry Brewery, Nottinghamshire

Jonathan and Chloe tied the knot at The Pheasantry Brewery in Nottinghamshire, celebrating with a relaxed, modern rustic wedding surrounded by countryside views. The couple met at university in Nottingham, spent several years long-distance, and got engaged on Christmas Day 2023 during a meaningful walk with their beloved dog’s memory nearby.

Their wedding day reflected a summery garden-party vibe, with pastel florals, lawn games, handmade details, and personal touches throughout. Highlights included emotional music moments, an upbeat first dance, and a joyful cocktail hour spent soaking up time with loved ones.

Choosing Adele from Fly on the Wall Photo as their wedding photographer proved to be a standout decision, with Jonathan and Chloe praising her natural style, calming presence, and stunning gallery.

Tell us about your love story

We met on a university night out in Nottingham in May 2017 (me being in my first year, Jonathan in his final year) and quickly became besties. A few months later Jonathan asked me to be his girlfriend.  After he graduated, he moved back to Suffolk, and we spent the next few years doing long distance.

Eventually, I finally moved down to Suffolk too.

Jonathan proposed in December 2023 on Christmas Day during a walk that meant a lot to us (a route we used to take Biscuit, a very special labrador). As he proposed, a robin landed right beside us, making the moment even more special and surreal.

From the beginning, we’ve brought out the best in each other and always felt comfortable together.  We got to have our dream wedding, then our dream honeymoon in New Zealand and Australia. The next exciting stage is getting our puppy, Joey!!

Wedding Venue and Location

We got married at The Pheasantry Brewery, surrounded by beautiful Nottinghamshire countryside.  We chose the Pheasantry because it felt relaxed, characterful, and unpretentious. The setting struck the perfect balance between rustic and modern, with natural light, and an atmosphere that felt welcoming rather than overly formal.

The venue allowed us to create the kind of day we really wanted. A highlight was having lawn games set up outside, which our guests absolutely loved. The team at the Pheasantry were amazing throughout. The staff worked so hard behind the scenes to make sure everything ran smoothly.

Wedding Style, Theme and Vibe

Our wedding style was relaxed and summery. We wanted the day to feel warm, welcoming, and fun like a garden party rather than a formal event. Our design choices were inspired by the countryside setting and the season. We leaned into a modern rustic style, letting the beautiful venue and surroundings do most of the work rather than over styling the venue.

The colour palette was soft and fresh.. pinks, peaches, blues, and greenery. Summery pastel florals added a pop of colour, while black accents on photo frames, signs and candle holders gave a modern aspect. Instead of flowers on the dinner tables we had simple bud vases of gypsophila.

We included lots of homemade, personal touches throughout the day. From a custom beer pump featuring our dog, to photos of us across the years. Details such as place name ribbons and signage were handmade by me.

Music Moments

Walked down the aisle to Una Mattina by Ludovico Einaudi – a musician we both love and have seen live.  First dance song was Carry you home by Alex warren. We just loved the lyrics and wanted an upbeat first dance.  The most meaningful music moment of the day was my very talented brother singing us down the aisle on our ceremony exit. He sung ‘Dein ist mein ganzes Herz’.  Another highlight was our entrance into the wedding breakfast to public service announcement by JayZ.

Photography Experience

I was overwhelmed with the amount of photographers to choose from! We saw on the Pheasantry Brewery’s instagram that Adele had worked there before and when I clicked on her profile it just stood out. We really liked the style. We are soooo happy we had Adele as our photographer. She just

fit in with the guests and worked so hard getting all the shots throughout the day. She was also lovely to have around during the getting ready process in the morning. When we got our gallery back we were just amazed at how well she captured everything and loved the quality and editing style of the pictures. It was everything we wanted and more, we have so many photos to look back on and I’m so glad we invested in such an amazing photographer!!!

Wedding day experience

The part of the day we looked forward to the most was the cocktail hour just after the ceremony.  Newly married surrounded by all of our favourite people.  The day flies by so quickly so it was nice to just look around and take it all in, soaking up all the love!  Everything was just perfect.

Advice for future couples

Advice we would give to other couples is to just do everything exactly how you and your partner want to, don’t do things just to please other people!

Describe your wedding day:

Meaningful, fun, heart-warming.

A relaxed, summery celebration filled with personal touches, laughter, and the people who mean the most to us. Plus trays and trays of baby Guinness shots!

Kind Words (Testimonial Section)

Absolutely INCREDIBLE from start to finish. The quality of her work is outstanding, and she captured the day so beautifully and naturally. She worked so hard throughout the entire day and was such a calm, lovely presence to have around. She is worth every penny and more, and we couldn’t be happier with the photos!
